I like to drive fast. What can I say it’s the truth. I also like expensive cars, also the truth. Fortunately, I own 3 body shops in Tulsa and the guys that work for me don’t care whether they work on a customer’s car or mine. Also, they’re good guys, like family to me, and they know the deal. Most of the damage I do is pretty minor stuff. Now, a scrape here or scratch there would ordinarily be no big deal, but with me it’s all the time. In fact, my guys have created an office pool based on how many days in a month I’ll say, “Hey boys, can you take a look at this?” The average is 3 by the way. I don’t have them fix it every time, you understand, I do have a business to run. More often than not though, they’re doing the work and harassing me about it by the end of the day. It’s all in good fun, but it does get tiresome. One day one of my guys came in the shop with a possible solution. I suspect it’s because he’s never won the pool. You see, the majority of the scrapes are from me driving a bit recklessly by taking speed bumps, driveways, and parking garage ramps at the speed of sound. As I said, it’s fun to drive fast. The underside of my front bumper takes the brunt of my abuse and his solution sounded like pure genius. My man found this product called the Sliplo Universal Skid Plate and damn if I’m not angry at myself that I didn’t think of it first. This thing comes in multiple pieces that attach underneath your bumper with adhesive. It literally guards your bumper when you…let your enthusiasm get the better of you behind the wheel. It’s tough as nails. The really good news is that I like it so much I started carrying it as an add-on install for my customers. I can have it installed in a matter of hours and make a couple hundred more than I would have otherwise. It’s a no brainer and my customers love it. I just tell them spend a few hundred now or a few thousand later. Anyway, I just thought I’d give you all a head’s up about this product. You too can drive fast guilt free. Well, not too fast.
